With warmer weather finally showing up (thank goodness) my face makeup moves to a concealer and a powder foundation (the oil, vey) for my base. Thanks to the warmer weather, I wanted to round up my top 5 concealers to share with you, since they will all be in heavy rotation from here on out.

The first concealer I love is the YSL Touche Eclat in 02, which I have posted about in the past. Its very lightweight, brightening and fairly light in coverage. I really love using this product as a liquid highlighter all over the face, but its also great under the eyes if you don’t have much to cover or as a way to blend out a heavier product or color corrector.

The second is also a brightening concealer, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Fair has both the longest name and the best consistency for under eye work of the 5. It is creamy without being heavy and packs more coverage than the YSL Touche Eclat. It is similar to the YSL since it has a pink brightening undertone as well. I really love it, and since you can grab it at any drugstore its so amazingly easy to get and affordable. Sadly, it has a pretty gross applicator. The sponge tip is kinda gross, but you can take it off or apply with a brush.

The third is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla, I love this one for the upcoming summer. It is radiant, but works for face concealing as it packs some very serious coverage and isn’t tinted. The formula is what makes this concealer truly luminous (and it really is). Its also amazingly easy to blend and looks like skin. I find with a primer I can make this concealer last all day (since it is quite creamy it only lasts 5 hours or so without a primer on my oily skin).

The fourth is just amazing. Make Up For Ever Full Cover concealer in 06. This concealer covers everything and straight up lasts all day. I use this exclusively on my imperfections (acne, dark spots, redness etc…) and not under my eyes. I find it too drying there, but it can work as a base to under eye concealer to make it last longer. You also need a tiny amount thanks to the mega pigment. Its amazing. And did I mention its waterproof?

The last is a newbie to the concealer family. Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage in 02 is just fantastic. I use this for the same imperfections as the Make Up For Ever since its a heavy cream concealer and I don’t need that kind of coverage under my eyes. You can use it under the eyes, especially since it handily comes with a more yellow shade and a more peach shade. I mix them together depending on the shade of my imperfection (dark spots get more peach to correct while redness gets more yellow). The consistency is thick, but with some warmth it blends amazingly and covers everything. This has the most coverage of the five and I find it lasts a very long time on my skin. Very impressed, very much in love.

What about you guys? What concealers do you swear by? I am always looking for great new suggestions.

  1. Always good to read little round-ups like this! I have 4 concealers I think; Nars Radiant Creamy concealer which I only use under my eyes, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer ditto, Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage which I use only on the rest of the face and hence not very often, and Diorskin Nude concealer (too funny, I hate Dior, but I love the parfumerie saleslady who forced this stuff on me. I love them all and rotate them, Nars has a small advantage over the others.

  2. Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer, it’s the only under eye concealer I use now. I bought mine at IMATS but I’ve seen a 50% off sale once (was probably Black Friday). For blemishes, I use Hard Candy’s Glamoflauge and set it with Bare Escentuals powder concealer. Glamoflauge is super pigmented and as long as you moisturize under, it blends. The medium shade seems to be a bit green tinted so that redness disappears. Sadly, my Touche Éclat & NARS concealer sit in the corner look pretty. I made the mistake of buying a Limited Edition packaged Touche Éclat and I hate using it for that reason. Haha its so silly.

  3. Hey Natalie, I have and use both the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and YSL Touche Eclat all the time! I use Touche Eclat as a brightener though. I’ve tried to use it as a concealer, but it seems a bit too dry for my undereye area (oh age, thou are a heartless b*)! For other imperfections, I’ve been sticking to the Cle de Peau concealer.
