Urban Decay Smoked Palette – A Great Fall Palette

With Fall on the horizon (its still too hot here to say its Fall) new colors and textures make their way into my makeup routine. Certain looks are timeless, every year, at their prescribed time, looks come back. Fall and Winter bring with them the smokey eye. Last year Urban Decay made an eyeshadow Palette just for this look, The Smoked Palette. This has everything you need to correctly execute the smokey-eye look (no pandas here).

the shadows

The palette has 10 shadows, comes with a Perversion 24/7 Pencil and a mini Urban Decay Eye Shadow Potion (for future reference, this is a UDPP, that name is just too long). This also comes with a booklet, which gives you step by step instructions on how to create a variety of smokey looks (which is just so darn handy).

asphalt, loaded, evidence, rockstar, barlust, blackout, backdoor, mushroom, freestyle, kinky

I love this palette. I find all the shadows to be amazing quality and, I love that Urban Decay threw some colors in there. It just adds that extra element of fun to your look, if you want. Perversion is a super dark black, super creamy liner. I actually find it a little too creamy, if that even makes sense, but its a great product. UDPP is also good stuff, I have super oily eyelids, so UDPP is actually not strong enough to keep creasing at bay on me all day, but it works very well for those who are not a walking oil-slick. UDPP dries clear and, doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

UDPP, Perversion

I find these shadows are great for getting a smokey look, but I find this is also a great palette for everyday. A bunch of the colors, Freestyle, Kinky, Mushroom and, Barlust are great for an everyday look. Plus, there are a few great matte colors in this palette. Which is great for this Falls matte trend, while the shimmery metallic shades cover you on the metallic eye trend (crazy opposite trends this Fall).

the sculpted tutorial, great for this Fall

The booklet is awesome! Its not some color by numbers, quick thing. Its lengthy, and tells you detailed steps on how to blend, apply and, create the look. It also has some tutorials on how to get a more colorful smokey eye, which is such a great idea.

The rundown: A+
